Just rinse with warm or hot water right after each use. It can also be sterilized in boiling water (except the clear container and carry case). I personally like to hold the baby upright when vacuuming the mucus, so I can control the directions as well. It’s a very handy tool when baby got running or stuffy nose.

suction though if you position it right, but I am a bit concerned that
there is no filter or any other sort of thing to block “stuff “from

I’d ask for my money back but its so full of snot that I can’t clean out!
I just used this on my daughter who had a stuffy nose and there are three major problems with this product –
1) The aspirator tip is opaque so you can’t see the nasal discharge as it comes out.
2) It’s impossible to properly clean the aspirator tip – its a long, narrow 2-in tube. There’s no way that it’s ever going to get properly cleaned and it’ll become a bacterial and viral breeding ground.
3) The tube is not long enough. You have to be right in your baby’s face.
That said, human-powered suction nasal aspirators, in general, work VASTLY better than bulb or battery-powered aspirators – (Don’t waste your money on a battery powered aspirator – they just don’t work). This just happens to be a poorly designed one.

I have a 3 months old and she is supper congested. This aspirator overall is a good product since you can control the suction level. I recommend using saline drop first then suction (unless they have a runny nose).

Yes, it sucks but in a good way. I have used the dreaded bulb, cringed at the expense of the battery operated models and scratched my head at the musical snot suckers. With much hesitation I purchased this, seeing as it was reasonably priced, had no mechanical parts or batteries, and was made by that oh-so-advanced culture of Japan. I was a bit freaked out at first, wondering if I would get a mouth full of my child’s snot, however this thing worked like a charm! The end that goes in your child’s nose is just long enough so that it isn’t shoving its way into his brain. The tube that goes in your mouth is the perfect length and yes, it does what it says. It removes the mucus competely and effectievely. I am giving one to all my relatives with kids as gifts.

I would have given it 5 stars, but since my 8.5mos old baby screams when I use it just as bad as he did with the regular bulb syringe I did take away a star.
It works GREAT though. Definitely helps get more mucous out than the plain old hospital aspirators. I personally think it has helped prevent ear infections because of that.
Warning though – do NOT let baby turn it upside down.
You might get an unpleasant surprise upon suction.
