This book has lots of helpful information but in the end I was disappointed because they don’t come right out and say which products are best, just give some suggestions of things to look for. I was hoping it would rate products from best to worst so you knew just what quality you were getting.

i bought this book b/c consumer reports does crash testing on baby car seats. well, they didn’t test any rear facing car seats which is what i need to buy right now. i also didn’t find much of the other info in the book very helpful. mostly just opinion based which i can get from friends or relatives. i expected more fact-based or test-based results from this book. there is not much of that.

I thought this book was decent… but subsequent to purchasing it, I bought Baby Bargains and I ended up finding that much more useful. Unlike this book, Baby Bargains actually discusses pros and cons of specific brands so you really know what to look for when shopping.

I was hoping this book would help me make some decisions on baby products. As a first time mom all of the stuff you need for a baby is overwhelming! It wasn’t bad, but not as many ratings as I had expected. I even signed up for their “free” online site and didn’t get much more off of there. If you’re looking for a better book I’d check out Baby Bargins.

Choosing baby products can be overwhelming, especially for first time parents. As always, Consumer Reports emphasizes safety, as well as economy. It will make shopping for baby easier!
