The Holiday is just around the corner, and I am NOT  done with my Holiday shopping.

I used to enjoy shopping (before the kids and used to be size 4), but these days I dread just entering the mall.

Shopping for clothing is no longer an enjoyable activity for me because the clothes I like doesn’t fit me nicely as it does on the window, and shopping for electronics is sometimes way over my head.

Wait … it’s not over-my-head!  I just am not passionate about gadgets like my siblings.  Yes … I do have the latest gadgets in my house, but I just don’t get that EXCITED!   You know what I mean?

Anyhoot … my oldest child wants a tablet.  If it was up to my kid it would be an iPad, but since I am dishing out the cash I am leaning towards an e-Reader.

My kids are avid readers (and game/movie fans), but I personally don’t think reading books on a screen is a good thing.  What do I mean by that?

Well, I love the smell of used books (not the ones that were in a moldy basement for 20 years).  There something about the smell of paper, and physically turning the pages as you get closer and closer to the end of the book that I cherish.

My hubby, on the other hand, is a technology-enthusiast and can’t understand it! These days everything’s gotten so impersonal and traditions of reading books are fading much faster than I like to digest.

After much discussion, with my hubby, I finally came to terms of CHANGES!

So … the next step was what should I buy.  I am not going to spend $800 plus for an iPad … PERIOD!  I know technology is important and there are many benefits of electronics, but $800 gift to a pre-teen child is a big NO-NO in my book!  However, the new e-Readers by Amazon, and Barnes and Noble are impressive and much more affordable for “NORMAL” family.

After compiling information on both e-Readers I have decided on Kindle Fire.  There are very little difference, especially for a pre-teen child, but there are enough differences for me to lean towards one brand over the other.

You all probably have read all the reviews and comparisons on both products, but the main difference between one product over the other is … “what are you going to use them for?”

If you are using mostly for reading books/magazines/newspapers then you should lean towards Barnes and Nobles NOOK Tablet.  However, if you into movies/musics then you should purchase Kindle Fire.

I think that is the simplest and easiest way to decide the end-user’s need.

With all that said … I think I need to purchase both of them!  LOL

I just need to find some coupons for these little babies … wouldn’t that be great?
