Some people’s weakness might be to chocolate or french fries or horror movies or are adrenaline junkies, but my weakness is to Real Housewives Shows.

I can’t help it!  I can’t live without my “Real Housewives” shows!

Ok … that might sound too creepy; so I will rephrase my first sentence … “The Real Housewives shows really entertains me!”  That sounds much better …

For a fact … my friends and family don’t live like them, and I surely don’t live like them!

Frankly, I don’t know too many housewives look and act like them.  I do have few friends who dresses nicely, drive nice cars, and are known in the community; but they sure don’t act like them!

I guess I surround myself with “down-to-earth” people.

So … what is my fascination with that show?

Well, I think it’s more to due with the drama than anything else.  I don’t watch those shows to make myself jealous of what they have, who they are, how they live and etc.

I wouldn’t trade in anything in my life to live like them because I have the best husband and greatest kids in the world … my life is filled with love, dedication, loyalty, happiness, and much less drama!

Every single time I watch these shows he tells me “that’s one hour of my life I will never get back,” or “I think I lost some brain cells,” or “don’t you have anything better to worry about that those people’s drama?” or “you are so voyeuristic.”

Today’s society has become more voyeuristic than ever before because of the abundance of reality TV shows.

The definition of voyeurism has negative connotations (that we all know), but the concept of voyeurism has evolved from clinical psychological term to popular culture behavior.

In CBSNews Website, from a study in September issue of the Journal of Consumer Research, reality TV allow its viewers to imagine themselves as one of them (or one of the cast members).

I thought this was quite intriguing because I don’t see myself as one of the Housewives or imagine myself as one of them.

I honestly watch these shows for the drama.  My husband and I do our best to keep drama out of our lives because it is toxic to our well being.

So I guess I watch these shows to see real drama THAT IS NOT MY OWN; thus, it is not real.

I guess that is the best way to describe it.

With that said the reunion of New Jersey women are on next week Sunday, and feud is brewing on Beverly Housewives show tonight!  LOL

Ok … I couldn’t help it!

There was really nothing on TV, and my Housewives shows on Bravo TV were not on so I decided to watch MOST Eligible Dallas.

Wow … things haven’t changed.

Girls are mean (especially to other girls), and boys are well … boys.

I know it’s not an excuse for them to act this way (especially Courtney), but I do understand the frustration.

With that said, the comment she has made about Neill’s absence, from her child, for one night to go out with her new Dallas Friends was totally irrational and ignorant.

As you can tell, she is not a mother, and that is totally expected from people with no children.

Moms and dads need breaks!

Day in and day out of spending time with your child is not healthy (mentally), and if the baby is left with trust worthy people for few hours so you can go out and have a glass a wine and maybe dance a little will do wonders to baby-mother relationship.

I can go on and on about this, but let’s keep it short and sweet.

Boys will be boys … wow, that really hasn’t changed.

Honestly, there is nothing really more to say except that they will one day grow up!  Hmmm …

I thought the show was entertaining and probably have to watch couple of more episodes to decide if it is that interesting.

The other day I was sick from work so I stayed home and turned the TV on.  I do not get to watch too much day time TV so I thought what the heck; I will give it a try.  I had whooping cough so I was contagious, but I did not feel too bad.  I was not coughing a lot and I did not feel that sick but I work with children so no work today.  I have cable and over one hundred stations so I should be able to find something.  What I found was stupid stuff.  First, I watched those morning TV shows where they interviewed each guest for three minutes.  I see the logic in it because we are all getting ready to go to work and some just cannot sit through a ten-minute interview. 

When you are sick though, three-minute interviews seem crazy.  The news is repeated so many times I had to turn it off.  I might as well turn on a news cable network and guess what?  Their interviews were not much longer.  They argued about the economy and elections and food and oh just stop!  Too much stupid stuff.  I mean the topics were not stupid just some of the conversations they were having.  It seemed to me that the Democrats on one side and the Republicans on the other side were just going over the talking points of each party.  They walk in lock step and it was quite boring after awhile.  I changed the channel again.  An old cartoon came up but it looked outdated compared to now.  I used to love this cartoon but I could not watch it now.  I am sure I felt it was high tech at the time.  Stupid stuff.  I turned the channel again and stalled on another talk show.  I lost interest in it so I decided I would check the guide and watch something I could really like.

I spent the next three hours flicking channels like I had heavy HD AD.  How much bad stuff is there?  I tuned in a couple of popular shows like the View but was flabbergasted by the unintelligent banter going on there.  What do they know to be talking about such deep issues?  I mean two are actors and one I do not know what she does really.  Stupid stuff  really.  They even had someone I liked on it but I still could not watch it.  Judge Judy and all those other court shows came next, one after another.  I guess you could learn from them at times because so many people in the shows came to court with no information or proof of anything.  I mean, don’t they watch these shows themselves?  One after another brought no evidence to help them win.  Even their witnesses could not help their cases.  Judge Judy laid into a few of them and deservingly so.  There were a lot of unpaid cell phone bills, stupid stuff like that.  That seems to be a popular thing to do ,give your friend a cell phone because they have bad credit and of course they stick you with the bill.  A lot of bad hairdressers too are on those shows.  A bad haircut lasts for months you know.

It seems that people do stupid stuff on a regular basis. You see them getting ready to do something that they think is a good idea or is fun and you immediately know that this is not going to turn out well for them. These are also the times that we grab out video cameras so that we can get them doing the stupid stuff on film. Having a recording of them doing this stupid stunt or idea of theirs can bring people a good laugh for a long time to come.

For instance you see the videos of people who think that putting their sled behind the back of a truck and holding onto a rope is in no way a stupid idea. To them it seems like it could be fun. You however see the set up and know that it in no way can end well for the person. Such stupid stuff is fun to see happen to other people and often brings us a nice laugh. Searching these videos online video sites and social networks can bring you a laugh when you need one after a hard day at work.

Video taping stupid stuff can also sometimes be fun to do with your own friends. Not the kind of stupid stuff where you hold onto the back of a truck but just you all together having fun. Having these memories on tape can be fun to go back and watch later on in life. Being able to show your children that you at one time were indeed young and fun can be a real eye opener for them. Many times your children forget that you were once young and carefree as they are. Having the proof on video will show them as well as remind you that having a little more fun like you use to can be good for you and you should have more fun. It may also entice you to find those friends in the video again. Maybe you are still friends with them or you may have become disconnected. With social networks helping you find long lost friends it is even easier these days to track down your friends and surprise them with a blast from the past.
