Patricia’s Grocery store Trip

Today was my first visit to Patricia’s grocery store because it is relatively far away from where I live (about good 25 minute drive with traffic) so I never really thought of going there; especially when I have Gerbes store closer to me.

However, the sales were too great and it was totally worth it to make a trip there.

Here are my reasons why I went there.

First and foremost, Schnuck’s had their 10/$10 sales on boxed potatoes and Wolf Chili, but they will ONLY double the first three (3) like coupons; which is a real bummer.

The store will not allow you to make multiple transactions, so that means I have go back to the store numerous times (in and out) to take advantage of Schnuck’s double coupon policy.

I love couponing and love using coupons, but that is too much for me!

Since Patricia’s will ad match sale prices, stores within 50 mile radius, I decided to take my Schnuck’s weekly ad and shop.

I went to the customer’s service station and asked about their coupon policies, and they were very helpful explaining their store policies.

The cashier I had was very friendly, and made me feel good about using coupons.  There are many cashiers out there, different store, that frowns when they see coupon users … Hmmm … that is another story!

Anyhoot, transaction process was easy and pleasant!

Here is what I bought at Patricia’s Grocery Store.

20 boxes of Betty Crocker potatoes
12 cans of Wolf Brand Chili with No-beans

Regular price at Patricia’s:

Betty Crocker: $2.29 X 20 = $45.80
Wolf Brand Chili: $2.69 X 12 = $32.28
Total: $78.08

Price matchup with Schnuck’s weekly ad:
Betty Crocker: $1.00 X 20 = $20.00
Wolf Brand Chili: $1.00 X 12 = $12.00
Total: $32.00

Coupons I used this morning (the store will double each coupon up to $1.00):
Betty Crocker ($0.50/2): $0.50 X 10 = $5.00 doubles to $10.00
Wolf Brand Chili ($0.40/1): $0.40 X 12 = $4.80 doubles to $9.60
Total coupon value: $19.60

From $78.08 total I brought it down to $32.00 by simply utilizing the store’s price match-up policy, and further decreased my total by using my coupons to $12.40 (b4 tax).

Whopping …  83.7% Saving!

Yippy!!!
